EAST BRIDGEWATER — The East Bridgewater Central School Building Committee approves $2.2M in project invoices. The committee approved invoices totaling $2,194,658.38 for project management, preconstruction, and first-phase work, including payments to contractor Gilbane and designer RDA. Committee member Brian Kiely raised concerns about the timing of invoice submissions, prompting Chair Gina Williams to commit to establishing a standing finance subcommittee to review large expenditures before full committee votes.
The committee also discussed potential value engineering options to manage budget overruns, including eliminating gym and cafeteria skylights, with a cost reconciliation scheduled for June 25. Construction site preparation is underway.
