Commission defers decision on cottage demolition request

East Bridgewater Historical Commission postponed action on a Millet Artist's cottage demolition request. Chairman Dale R. Julius and the panel, including Vice-Chairman Alexandra Waugh, Secretary Lois Nelson, Member Joshua Sampson, and Member Katherine Wolfe, agreed to conduct a property inspection before reconvening February 23.
The property, part of the Engstrom estate and located within the Historic District, suffers extensive termite damage and rot. Real estate agent Brian Fenstermaker presented the inquiry on behalf of the heirs; most potential buyers favor demolition, though one restoration-interested buyer withdrew when repair costs exceeded $200,000 over purchase price.
