Commission schedules public hearing on artist's cottage demolition

Historical Commission · Meeting of March 2, 2026

EAST BRIDGEWATER — The Historical Commission votes to delay a demolition decision on the Millett Artists Cottage pending a public hearing on March 30. Chair Dale R. Julius and five other members voted 6-0 to schedule the hearing.

Executor Todd Engstrom and realtor Brian Fenstermaker described the building's poor condition and said potential buyers interested in restoration had withdrawn after assessing costs. The Commission also approved a handout for the Building Department on demolition procedures and accepted the 2025 year-end report for Town Report submission.
