East Bridgewater Board of Health Approves Betterment Loan With Utility Payment Condition

EAST BRIDGEWATER — March 2, 2026 — East Bridgewater Board of Health conditionally approves betterment loan and clears eight permits at March 2 meeting. Health Agent Mike Soares flagged an outstanding water and trash bill at 204 Thatcher Street before asking the board to condition its betterment loan approval on payment in full — a stipulation the applicant had already agreed to. The board also approved Local Upgrade Variance 26-05 at 98 Hobart Street, allowing setback reductions from 20 to 17.2 feet at the foundation wall and from 50 to 32.8 feet from bordering wetlands, with Soares citing poly barriers and retaining walls as adequate mitigation. Eight additional permits were approved in two batches, including food service permits for the Boundless Bean LLC, which is opening a second location inside the East Bridgewater YMCA. The board deferred final approval of its 2025 Annual Report to its March 16 meeting, the last opportunity before the March 27 submission deadline.
