Historical Commission approves $2,000 graveyard restoration

EAST BRIDGEWATER — The East Bridgewater Historical Commission unanimously approved $2,000 in graveyard repair spending. The commission authorized Colonial Stone to repair deteriorating gravestones in the Old Graveyard and approved up to $152.27 for cleaning and restoration work around historical markers, with first priority on a marker at the Azor Harris Property recently deeded to the commission. The commission also discussed ongoing preservation efforts for a property facing a July 31 demolition deadline, noting that historian Michael Sullivan plans to document the site before any permit is issued.
