New Sign-Up Rules Drafted for High School's Indoor Walking Track
The Oct. 13 School Committee meeting touched on two sports-adjacent items for East Bridgewater.
EAST BRIDGEWATER --
TOWN -- At the Oct. 13 School Committee meeting, Superintendent Williams shared a draft of new guidelines governing public use of the high school's indoor walking track. Under the proposed system, anyone wishing to walk the track would need to complete a sign-up application and obtain an ID with a photo, along with a FOB for access. The FOB would be programmed to work only during the hours the indoor track is open for walking use. The guidelines remain in draft form; officials said the current paper sign-in process does not fold well for everyday use and that the new system is meant to improve how walkers are identified and tracked.
HIGH SCHOOL -- Student representative Max told the School Committee that "most sports teams are coming to an end in about two weeks" and that "teams that have qualified playoffs will be attending their post-season competitions." No specific team names, scores, or matchups were reported at the meeting.
