Old Colony JTC approves reduced funding for regional transit
Town Clerk · Meeting of February 5, 2026
EAST BRIDGEWATER — Old Colony transportation committee votes to cut transit funding by $1.45 million. The Old Colony JTC voted unanimously to reduce federal RTACAP funding for a Brockton Area Regional Transit Authority maintenance facility project from $2.15 million to $700,000. Michael Lambert of BAT thanked the planning council for negotiating support.
The committee also unanimously approved an updated Memorandum of Understanding governing the region's transportation planning, with five proposed revisions. Two East Bridgewater projects remain in the FFY 2027-2031 pipeline: a $3.5 million intersection improvement at Highland Street and North Bedford Street (Route 18) and a $5.73 million bridge replacement on Pond Street over the Satucket River, both programmed for FFY 2029.
