Select Board approves Gilbane as construction manager for Central Elementary
Select Board · Meeting of February 2, 2026
EAST BRIDGEWATER — Select Board unanimously approves Gilbane as Construction Manager at Risk for Central Elementary School project. The firm was selected from nine prequalified companies following interviews January 15 and 16, with the Building Committee endorsing the choice January 21. Early site preparation is expected to begin in late February or early March, with coordination planned with police, fire, and DPW.
The board simultaneously approved routine business, including Sustainable Purchasing Policy adoption and revisions to vehicle use and accident reporting procedures in the Personnel Policies. Town Administrator Charles Seelig reported the FY27 budget deficit is less severe than previously anticipated due to potential health insurance rate reductions and strategic use of OPEB funds, though the Town remains ineligible for discretionary state grants due to MBTA noncompliance status.
