Traffic Committee defers on four-way stop recommendation

Traffic Advisory Committee · Meeting of April 28, 2026

East Bridgewater Traffic Advisory Committee defers on all-way stop recommendation for downtown intersections. Chair Rebecca Johnson and committee members reviewed a preliminary engineering assessment for Plymouth Street/Bridge Street and Plymouth Street/Whitman Street but found it lacked sufficient traffic counts, sight-line reviews, speed analysis, and supporting detail. Members noted concerns about grade, sight distance, truck traffic, and approach speeds, requesting additional engineering work before reconsidering the matter.

The committee separately acknowledged traffic safety concerns at Captains Way and Winter Street, with the Police Department continuing to monitor the area.
